They say that the
best things in life happen when you least expect it. We all have situations
that we draw inside our heads even if we know that they are kind of too far
from reality. Things that are something out of the ordinary. The best thing
would be when those situations actually happen unexpectedly. I was never really
someone who believed that those kind of things could happen to me, situations
that make you look back and think twice if it actually really happened. I think
you’ve also at one point in your life has experienced looking up to someone you
haven’t even met or even conversed with. Whether it’s your favorite writer,
singer, actress/actor or anyone that at one point inspired you and gave you
even the slightest bit of hope. You would naturally want to meet these people
and say a word of thanks.
Personally, I am someone who looks up to many people. I am someone who
finds inspiration in other people’s experiences. In my case, I met someone well
technically not meet but I saw someone that I’ve looked up to for 3 years. Someone
that somehow inspired me to try and pursue something that I’ve always wanted to
at least try but never had the courage to. Someone that I would say is one of
my role models. This happened about a week ago as I was scrolling through Facebook
just like a normal teenager. I saw a post about my favorite volleyball team
being in the city. I was surprised. I usually know the whereabouts of the team
but I’ve been too preoccupied with school and my other interests that I wasn’t really
paying attention to them or to the sport at all. So to simply put it, I saw the
post and it said something about the tickets being sold at 1 pm exactly that day
so I made a spontaneous decision and begged my sister to watch the game with
me. I waited a long time to buy the ticket actually about 3 hours to be exact
but it was worth it. That time, I felt like I was in a daze not because it was
like so extraordinary but I think the timing made it feel more unimaginable.
The fact that I was not expecting it at all made it feel like one of those
extraordinary situations. You might be
wondering which team it was and which player of the team was I talking about in
the first part of this but I think I’ll save that for another blog post. The
point is, seeing that person somehow made me realize that the best moments are
the unplanned ones.
